PIANOFIX polyurethane adhesives serves to attach XPS and EPS Styrofoam boards to surfaces of flat roofs covered in galvanized sheet, bituminous paste or tar paper, when performing thermal insulation. The product can also be used to glue Styrofoam ceiling tiles and wall panels, fix sills, as well as fill gaps in thermal insulation in. The polyurethane adhesive demonstrates perfect adhesion to concrete, ceramic and wooden surfaces, as well as PVC and any other kind of Styrofoams, plasters and bituminous coating surfaces, tar paper and asphalt insulation pastes, sheet.
EPS and XPS sheets must have straight edges. The foundation prepared for sheet bonding should be flat, smooth, well-cleaned and devoid of dust. Before you start bonding Styrofoam boards at low temperatures, remove frost from the surface and dry damp patches off. With regard to surfaces with bituminous coating, it is advisable to carry out an adhesion pull-off test, that is stick the sheet with polyurethane adhesive to previously prepared surface and after about 2 hours (at least) try to pull off the adhesive connection. Before you start bonding, warm up a too-cold adhesive can to reach the room temperature, and then shake the can energetically (for about 30 sec.) in order to mix the ingredients properly. Next attach the can to the dispenser gun and apply the content in the dosing position top
down). To adjust the stream of adhesive, set the pin or pull the gun trigger. If the application is suspended for more than 15 minutes, the gun must be secured by leaving the screwed can for another use. Apply the adhesive on the sheet vertically with about 3-cm stripes, assuring equal distances every 20-30 cm between stripes and leave 3 cm of distance from the edge of the sheet (for sheets wider than 1000mm, apply more stripes of adhesive).
